Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis.

To complete your vacation, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing Collette airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.

Please note that most shops and businesses in Italy are closed on Sundays and onnational/religious holidays.

When the Vatican option falls on a Wednesday, the order of included and optional toursmay be reversed, in order to participate in all activities for that day.

When reserving single accommodations, be advised that single rooms in Italy are oftensmaller in size.

*Due to the unpredictable nature of the events schedule at the Vatican, on certain dates itmay be necessary to visit the Vatican Museums in the afternoon.

Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays and holidays that fall on Saturday.

Most national museums in Florence, including the Uffizi Gallery and the Academy, areclosed on Mondays. If visiting the Academy Museum falls on a Monday on youritinerary, reservations will be made to visit the museum on Sunday upon arrival toFlorence.

*On occasion, due to inclement weather, your boat trip to Murano Island may besubstituted with a visit to a local glass factory in Venice.

This tour includes moderate physical activity. Walking tours, as well as walking slightlylonger distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Some ofthe most unique sightseeing can mean accessing locations that restrict motorcoaches,especially in historic areas. For your comfort, we recommend bringing walking shoes. Ifyou require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may not be able toaccess some of these areas and may want to consider an alternate Collette vacation. Ourtravel counselors can provide additional information or assistance to help you determinethe perfect trip for you.

Day 1: Overnight Flight
Welcome to Italy, a land rich in history, culture, art and romance.Your journey begins with an overnight flight to Rome, “The EternalCity.”

Day 2: Rome, Italy - Tour Begins
You arrive in Rome today. This evening, join your fellow travelersfor a special welcome dinner at a popular local restaurant featuringregional delicacies and fine Italian wines. Today dinner will beincluded.

Day 3: Rome
This morning it's your choice! Perhaps a trip to Vatican City, with anoptional tour to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica* will beon your personal sightseeing list. This afternoon, enjoy a locallyguided panoramic tour of Rome featuring the impressive PiazzaVenezia, the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the Arch ofConstantine and the famous Trevi Fountain. Today breakfast willbe included.

Day 4: Rome - Assisi - Perugia
Today enjoy a full day of sightseeing complete with a short lesson onthe local language. Travel to Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis. Take aguided walking tour of the old city, including the Basilica of St.Francis. Then you are off to medieval Perugia, the historic capital ofUmbria. Behold one of the grandest squares in Italy, the Piazza IVNovembre, and delight in the medieval palaces and ornate cathedrals.Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 5: Perugia - Siena - Florence
A scenic journey through Tuscany’s graceful low-lying hills bringsyou to the mystical city of Siena. You will be delighted by its narrowGothic streets, magnificent palaces and historic Piazza del Campo.After a walking tour with a local expert, take some time to explore themedieval corners of Siena with its great shops and outdoor cafes. Enroute to Florence, visit a family-owned leather shop and learn thetraditional Italian techniques of leather making. Today breakfast anddinner will be included.

Day 6: Florence
In Florence, the “Cradle of Italian Renaissance,” visit the worldfamousAcademy Gallery to see Michelangelo’s incredible Statueof David. During your cultural tour of Florence, you'll also view theCathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, the Palazzo Vecchio, and theChurch of Santa Croce, burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo andMachiavelli. End your morning with an informative explanation ofFlorentine gold and its fascinating techniques at a local gold shop. Theremainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this fascinating city on yourown. Today breakfast will be included.

Day 7: Florence - Venice
Start your day with a trip to a historic winery in the heart of theChianti region with its very own 12th century castle. Learn aboutTuscany’s famous wines and enjoy a lunch filled with localspecialties. This afternoon, journey through central Italy, crossingover the wooded Apennine Mountains toward the Valley of the Po.Enchanting Venice awaits with 117 tiny islands and its latticework of150 canals and 400 bridges. Today breakfast and lunch will beincluded.

Day 8: Venice - Murano Island - Venice
Your day begins with a boat trip* (weather permitting) to MuranoIsland for an up-close glass making demonstration. Next, return toVenice and visit charming St. Mark’s Square, the lively hub of thecity's activity and events. A local expert will guide you on a walkingtour of the area featuring St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, theBridge of Sighs, and the Clock Tower with its famous Moors. Todaybreakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 9: Venice - Lugano, Switzerland - Como, Italy - MilanMalpensa
Today you travel to the picturesque Italian Lake district. Cross intoSwitzerland and the lakeside resort of Lugano to enjoy beautiful viewsof Lake Lugano with excellent shopping opportunities. Returning toItaly, spend time in the elegant town of Como. Lake Como’s charm istied to its beautiful villas, lush gardens and spectacular views.Continue to Milan Malpensa for a farewell dinner celebrating the endof an unforgettable trip.
