Step inside the PALMER CENTENNIAL HOUSE for this special event sponsored by the JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BUFFALO. 19 houses in 38 years have raised over $4.1 million for the Western New York community. The 20th Decorators’ Show House, THE PALMER CENTENNIAL HOUSE, is located at 288 Lincoln Parkway. This arts-and-crafts style home was DESIGNED BY ARCHITECT ULYSSES G. ORR IN 1910. The house is three stories and boasts multiple fireplaces, over 100 windows, a pool, and many original architectural details. The house’s namesake and original owner, William Palmer, was a prominent florist in Buffalo.

Our group has a scheduled TIMED TICKET TOUR along with a visit to their GIFT SHOP. Our privately guided tour of the Palmer Centennial House will be is planned when the Show House is closed to the general public. Junior League Members and Community Volunteers will serve as docents, escorting groups throughout the newly decorated interior and the grounds of the residence. Unique and detailed descriptions, discussion of design techniques and information about the historical aspects of the home will complement your tour. LUNCH is included at nearby PARKSIDE (CANDIES, ICE CREAM AND LUNCHEONS) – a tradition since 1927. In 1983, Parkside Candy made its silver screen debut in the film “The Natural”, starring Robert Redford and Glenn Close. The director used the original store to shoot various movie scenes. Store furniture from the Main Street location was used in filming “The Natural”. If you look closely, Parkside Candy workers, such as Annmarie Ranger, were extras in the film. Buffalo was the background they needed to recapture the spirit of the 1930s.
